ABOUT US

In 2018, a group of parents, teachers and community members worked together to consolidate the weekend backpack food programs at individual elementary schools into one organization. This is how KidzPacks was formed. KidzPacks serves all five elementary schools in the Quincy Public School district, and the Quincy Early Childhood & Family Center.

Our program serves students in Pre-K through 5th grade who are enrolled in the free lunch program. We provide 1,000 students with breakfast, lunch and snacks each weekend during the school year, and during holiday breaks. We provide enjoyable, shelf-stable food that is easily prepared by children.

You may be surprised to learn that food insecurity is a serious problem in our community. Approximately 56.7% of QPS students qualify as low income and are eligible to receive free/reduced lunches (2021). Breakfasts and lunches at school provide essential nutrition for these children, and our program aims to bridge the weekend gap.

Our program is fully run by volunteers, which means that donated funds go directly towards feeding the kiddos we serve. All monetary donations are tax deductible.
